odd CIRKUS® sneakers
odd CIRKUS?
Pronunciation Odd Circus
A sneaker brand founded by a Japanese designer and a Taiwanese shoe production company.
odd in mind
The origin of the word odd CIRKUS® comes from the word "odd," meaning fantastic or unconstrained, and the original meaning of CIRCUS.
The word K stands for keen, keep, and key, so we named it CIR "K"US.
The change to K also shows the world the spirit of the odd CIRKUS® brand.
odd CIRKUS® was designed by a designer from Tokyo with over 25 years of experience in shoe design, and was tested by over 300 professional skaters for about 100 days, after which it was improved for functionality and comfort.
We at oddCIRKUS® have created vulcanized skateboard shoes and are currently selling them in Japan/Korea/China/Hong Kong etc for cultural exchange and sales.
odd The initial intention of developing CIRKUS®️ was to return to the origins of shoes, the vulcanization method (VULC). The vulcanization method was born in 1839, but at that time, during the war, all leather materials were difficult to distribute, and more military materials were used, so more convenient and wear-resistant materials were needed. Vulcanized shoes made of canvas and rubber became popular among the masses at that time.
Due to the characteristics of the canvas, the shoes are colorful and have original designs. Since the 1970s, vulcanized shoes have been popular with basketball players, skateboarders, and punk bands.
The reason for its popularity is that it had many possibilities. Nowadays, vulcanized shoes have attracted public attention, and various materials such as leather, suede, denim, and corduroy have changed the concept of vulcanized shoes.

Material
Canvas is just a material used in vulcanized shoes, but there is a whole world hidden in the materials used by oddCIRKUS®. How can they bring out the most appropriate functionality from this canvas, which has such a long history?
With experience building millions of pairs of vulcanized shoes, the OC development team turned to one of the most proven materials: canvas.
This fabric is made from a blend of 8 loops of 10-ply yarn in both the warp and weft, making it the densest and most abrasion resistant fabric that can be woven on a machine.
It is also used for military uniform thread, and is highly durable in any situation, including walking, strenuous work, and skateboarding.
When used over a long period of time, this canvas will fade due to friction, just like denim pants, allowing you to create canvas shoes that are dyed in your own unique color as you continue to use them.
Raw rubber
Rubber is a highly elastic polymeric material capable of reversible deformation and is widely used in a variety of industrial and everyday situations.
Rubber materials and products have strict quality requirements such as tensile strength, elastic modulus, elongation and aging resistance.
Rubber products are used in high precision applications and these parameters are often very demanding.
odd CIRKUS® outsole is made of raw rubber, which enhances basic comfort and durability. When skateboarding, it reduces friction between the board and the board, making it easier to perform ollies and advanced flips.
Equipped with OC rubber soles, odd CIRKUS® shoes are a must-have for skateboarders.
Two ways to tie shoelaces
Is your shoelace frequently coming loose a big problem for you?
odd CIRKUS® uses cotton shoelaces with a retro feel, which are characterized by low shrinkage and resistance to deformation. It also solves the annoying problem of loose shoelaces, and is highly resistant to wear and tear and durable, solving the small worries of skateboarders.
The hidden shoelace design allows you to experience two different ways of lacing your shoes, and also addresses the problem of shoelace wear that often occurs while skateboarding. The inner shoelace is also proposed as a design feature, which is typical of oddCIRKUS®. Another way to enjoy the shoes is to change the style by changing the way you tie your shoelaces.
Special Design
odd CIRKUS® original shoe ASTLEY Why are skateboard shoes different from other shoes?
The key to the foxing tape is not only the abrasion resistance and durability of the material, but also how it responds to the maneuverability of skateboarding movements. ASTLEY's foxing tape is made of canvas fabric with three layers of rubber wrapped around the upper, making the properties of raw rubber more effective and improving the fit. When the shoe body is rotated 180 degrees, the inside is cut out, allowing the arch of the foot to be supported. It makes it easier to move your feet and also provides the flexibility required for skateboarding.
odd The CIRKUS® airflow linear logo is asymmetrically connected to the heel and the lines of 70's vulcanized shoes, expressing the speed of skateboarding action.
